Electrochemical testing is a powerful tool for quantifying grades in material, electrode and cell production batches. For lithium ion battery production facilities a fast but sufficient testing procedure is needed,
giving significant data to determine quality changes < 5%. A comprehensive electrochemical test was composed, consisting of differential capacity analysis, galvanostatic intermittent titration technique, Crate test, and extended direct current pulse tests, as well as a cyclic and calendric degradation test (selection shown). To estimate the necessary cell number for testing allowing to detect quality changes within a desired accuracy the standard deviation of 100 pouch cells was determined.
