Understanding and controlling the physical properties of battery materials, particularly cathodes and anodes, is crucial for enhancing performance and sustainability in energy storage solutions. This study investigates how to reliably assess important parameters such as particle size and shape using Dynamic Image Analysis (DIA) and Laser Diffraction techniques. Additionally, a correlation between particle size and specific surface area is made, with materials like Lithium Cobalt Oxide (LCO), Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide (NMC), and Lithium Nickel Cobalt Aluminum Oxide (NCA) exhibiting varying particle sizes and shapes. Notably, NCA displays the smallest particles, while LCO has the largest, less circular particles. Furthermore, the ability to disperse these materials in eco-friendly solvents like water supports the development of environmentally responsible battery solutions.
