Lithium ion battery cell assembly is prone to safety- and performance-relevant defects during ramp-up, integration of innovative production procedures or prototyping of new cell designs and chemistries. Computer tomography presents an important field of innovation for process optimization overcoming the inherent limited sample accessibility.This posters highlights the advantages of compact at-line computer tomography for fast process optimization (stacking, welding, closing, handling, …) in battery production and product analysis e.g., conformity, TecSa, quality, safety and performance. The increased process control and insights make at-line CT a valuable tool for flexible and innovative production lines (e.g., high-speed stacking, lamination, material & dimensional variations).
